ALL FIRED UP!!!!.......A VERY successful AGM last Wednesday.

Hey everybody,

Marto here, still buzzing about the success and positive outcomes from the Rossland Radio Co-op AGM (annual general meeting) last wednesday Oct.27th.

Wow, what a turn out! I think there were around 18 people tucked comfortably into Booty's Den at the Rock Cut Pub last wednesday where we enjoyed some delicious appy's and some extra sweet libations while we sifted through the year in review for Rossland Radio and elected a new board of directors, which I might add, includes 11 talented folks!!!!! that is over double what we had for the previous year. We also renewed many memberships and assigned some new ones to some keen new faces, who also possess some voices that would sound great broadcasting over the airwaves. All in all it was a great meeting and plenty of new ideas and comments were brought forth that will help to take Rossland Radio to the next level....very cool.

A silent auction also took place over the course of the night and I do not know if I have ever seen such sweet items up for auction....especially the PILSNER long board that was brand new and sold for less than half of what it was worth to a wonderful dude Bret "Big Rig" Cook...look for him cruising the streets in style on his new board.

A huge announcement was also made on Wednesday......Not only is Buzz Lightbeer back on friday nights with "in tha Kootenays but his show is about to get even better!!! how is this even possible you ask? well, how about adding a certain local celebrity to create a devistating duo that cannot be reckoned with! that is right folks, the entire friday night crew (Buzz, Tomtanium, myself, and Dusty) would like to welcome none other than Jordan Sharka to friday night!!! We are all stoked to have Jordo on fridays (previously thursday nights) tag teaming the microphone into submission with Buzz....man am I charged up to hear their "kick-off" show tonight at 6pm, Friday nights just got even better !!

Thanks so much to Jackie, Marty, and Sean "Malibu" Bateman (and everyone else involved) for keeping Rossland Radio alive and well and for running a very professional and life giving annual general meeting. Tune in to 101.1fm everyday to hear some of the finest music and banter anywhere in the world.

Ok, gotta stop writing now...my coffee buzz is wearing off!

Tune in tonight (Oct 29) for a friday night line up like no other....seriously.

Rock on.

The change of seasons and..... more good times!

Hey heey heeeeey,

Just needed let you all know how much fun I have been having on my show, Prime Time, over the past few weeks. As the seasons change we are gonna be spending more time indoors and I am stoked for that because it means more quality radio prorgamming from the Rossland Radio studios! As we approach the AGM (annual general meeting) I hope that many of the folks that have expressed interest in being new members, and especially those who are considering having their own radio show, will show up the the meeting. I know for sure that some of the cats wanting to do shows (eg- Big Jer!) would make awesome radio talents and I can only imagine the tunes and the banter that will hopefully be "blastin' out da speakaz" in our living rooms....pretty stoked for that.

Make sure you get out to the AGM on Oct. 27 at the Rock Cut pub and support YOUR local radio station because every little bit will help right now. Become a member and reap the sweet benefits....OR! get on board and get your own show going to showcase your mad skills as a Rossland Radio DJ.

Be sure to stay tuned everyday of the week and especially on friday nights which, once again, are gonna be smokin'! Buzz Lightbeer is back and ready to broadcast his sweet little Aussie charm around our town again with "in tha Kootenays" followed by Mr. Tomtanium Premier with "Rossland on the Rocks" then I will be steppin in with "Prime Time" and yes folks.....Dusty and "The Abstract Element" will be rockin your face off with cosmic beats that are sure to please.

Rock on fine folks, tune into 101.1fm and turn up your radio(even if there is dead air sometimes!)

Later,

Marto

A sea of good times....

DAAAAMN! i just needed to mention how much fun I had last friday night on my debut of my new show "Prime Time"

I received such a warm welcome into the studios that it really made it easy and comfortable to get right down to rocking (cheers Buzz, Jordo, Aliss, Big Rig, and friends) I should have a playlist submitted here on rosslandradio.com as soon as I can, plus I ended up spinning tunes for 4 hours, which was super-rad, so that makes for a long playlist. I should be able to get most of it submitted in case you were wondering about any particular tunes that I played. I received lots of great feedback about the show (THANKS!), and besides a few technical difficulties with my gear, everything went really smooth.

This Friday is going to be a big one! It is film festival weekend and I wanna make sure that everyone is fully "Primed" for this classic event.

Be sure to tune in at 6pm to kick things off with "in the Kootenays" hosted by Buzz, that boy knows just how to heat things up in the studios for Tomtanium, myself, and Dusty....

Until then.

Thanks again and rock on.

Marto
