For those not moved to nail me to the nearest tree, the book I recommended on the November 6th edition of Dirge is
"The End of Faith" by Sam Harris.

Everyone should read this book, whether you're a saint, a sinner, or quite possibly none of the above. If humanity is to survive into the 22nd century, the world's various religions have plenty of reconciling (and serious explaining) to do. This is not conjecture. Just ask a Palestinian, an Iraqi, an Afghani, an Israeli...you get the picture.
